It’s a tough job but somebody has to do it. I am about to embark on a Jelly Tip July dessert crawl at well-known Auckland eateries Depot, Giapo, & The Food Truck Garage. The iconic Kiwi favourite is getting a makeover this Jelly Tip July, with chef Al Brown’s Depot, Giapo Haute Ice Cream and The Food Truck Garage all developing their very own Jelly Tip creations for customers.
The classic Jelly Tip is a combination of creamy Tip Top vanilla ice cream, delicious raspberry flavoured jelly and chocolate. This month, each chef is incorporating these classic flavours or textures into their own desserts of art.
The first one I have tried, is at Depot – a most incredible dessert, designed by chef Al Brown with a cookie base, passionfruit jelly, homemade hokey pokey icecream and solid chocolate shell. Goes well with the Bollinger champagne must say!
My nailpolish is Essie ‘Jam n’ Jelly’, which I thought was appropriate for jelly-tips!
