Good Health magazine held a breakfast as part of 30 Days of Fashion & Beauty with talks from nutritionalist Dr Libby Weaver and actress Angela Bloomfield at the Westin Hotel this morning.

The breakfast, sponsored by Kellogg’s who were promoting their All Bran honey almond wheat flakes (which I can say is very nice with fresh fruit), was definitely a good start to my day.

Mum, Shortland Street actress and now Go Girls director, Angela Bloomfield, spoke refreshingly honestly on her own experience as a mum of children aged 6 and 4 1/2 regarding meals, her own battles with guilt and calorie-counting, and the place of balance she has arrived at now.

Below: Shelley Ferguson.

Cleo’s Shelley Ferguson welcomed everyone, and shared how new NZ Good Health magazine, in its third issue in NZ, is pushing health and fitness rather than diets and guilt. That sounds fantastic to us – and any woman who has ever counted calories. With its cover star of Rebecca Gibney and features on dads for father’s day, and child tips too, it seems to be pitched slightly older than existing health mag, NZ Women’s Health. I liked the interviews with NZ fashion designers on their time management tips in the run up to fashion week.

Below Amy, Shuk and Helen at breakfast.

Guests could enter for free on the 30daysoffashionandbeauty.co.nz website to win tickets to the Good Health breakfast for them and a friend, and enjoy the two course breakfast and talks from Angela Bloomfield and Dr Libby Weaver.

All guests got to take home a goody bag of treats, some healthier (Habit gym visit) than others (Whittaker’s chocolate bar!)
