I am an avid sweet tooth, and am known to check out the dessert menu in a restaurant before I choose my main. I am also an avid baker and love all the frivolity that goes with decorating cakes and biscuits. So I was pretty keen to check out the recently opened Delish Cupcakes, nestled in a block of suburban shops in Forrest Hill, on Auckland’s North Shore.
It is here during normal shop hours (Mon-Sat 7.30am – 5.30pm) you will find an edible Pandoras Box of delicious and stunning looking cupcakes for you to enjoy.
Started by Kathryn Stoddart and Colleen Holden eighteen months ago as an online shop and delivery service, their dreams have now been realised with the opening of their store. Friends for ten years, they shared a passion for baking, cake decorating and beautiful looking things, and have turned these loves into a successful business.
For their opening night they presented a dessert table, an idea apparently big in America at the moment, in gorgeous brown and pink hues. These girls clearly understand the importance of asthetics when enjoying food.
Kathryn and Colleen are joined in their store by Karen Lockie from Little Cookies, who shares a similar business ethos, and also sells baking goods.
For those of you who cant make it to the store, there is also the Delish Cupcake website where you can order tasty morsels and view their amazing range. Delish Cupcakes also specialises in catering for events such as weddings, birthdays, christenings and so on.
