Jessie Gurunathan is not just a pretty face; she’s a mean smoothie maker, to boot. I can vouch for this, after tasting her green smoothie at the media demo, before we ruined all that healthiness by attacking the candy bar.
From her upbringing in Malaysia she was perfectly placed to share with us her tips on blending fresh fruit and veg, together with the latest craze here and something she’s had all her life – coconut water – and how to screw in the coconut siphon if you’re not adept with a machete as her father was!
Jessie was the face of the vibrant new kitchen collection from Russell Hobbs at the media event in Parnell on 15th December, where beauty editors got to sample the green smoothie, and then lay waste to a decidedly-less-wholesome array of lemon tarts and chocolate brownie.
Below: Jessie blending the smoothie with the Multi Hand Blender as the front line get slightly worried they may be wearing spinach if it starts flying. Luckily, none did.

Every master chef at home would love to get their hands on these; the latest kitchen appliances from Russell Hobbs, on display at the demo.
Jessie shared with us her recipe for her green smoothie, below.
