Kapiti cheese celebrated its recent success at the Cuisine New Zealand Champions of Cheese awards with the Ultimate Cheese Experience on Thursday 25 March.

The evening in its Elliot Stables store saw an exclusive party of guests sample various types of cheeses and hear about the cheese making process from the store manager Mark with the Wellington store manager.

Guests entering the retail store were met by the welcoming sight of a table of cheese accompanied by crackers and grapes.

First up, a video educated guests on how the various types of cheeses are made, then on to the tasting.

Oh! The tasting. Seven different types of cheese, starting with the softer, milder white rind cheeses and leading up to the tasty cheddars and blues.

Each type of cheese was served on a board complemented by accompaniments such as olives, quince paste and chutneys.

Best of all was the honeycomb served with blue cheeses; unusual, but worked so well.

And to finish off the evening, guests were offered a Kapiti ice-cream as they left.
