Vinyl Twist

"A curly girl like me thought I would only find a good curl product once in her fluffy, messy, humidity vulnerable life. Well, hold the straighteners. There is a new product on the market from those lovely people at REDKEN. This product is called Vinyl Twist 12. And it lives up to the name.

"What does that mean? Well it offers a real help to shaping your curls while remaining really flexible and soft. The cream has a slight pearly shine through it, which translates to an entire head of sexy glossy natural looking curls all day long. The product can be put onto wet hair and either left or blow dried depending on your taste – or in my case – time restraints!

I put this product to the ultimate test last week, I had washed my curls, brushed them and rubbed the product through, which sadly smells more like shower power than the normal hair product smell reminiscent of some sort of pina colada sipped out of a pineapple in Fiji. Anyway back to the test.. I was informed that we had to leave for the party, then and there and being the lady I am, I grabbed my toothbrush, make up and headed for my chariot. To dry my hair I stuck my head out the car window and from the rainy North Shore to drizzly town I was transformed from drowned cat to bouncy easy breezy, ready to party curly Sue!"

Matte Sponge

"It took me a while to get used to the sponginess of the texture; not like anything I’ve tried before. Really mousse-like, like Maybelline Dream Mousse Blush in texture. I was slightly worried the lilac bits would stay in my hair, but they blend well.

"Matte Sponge gives a roughed-up look with a strong rather than smooth finish so would recommend for choppy, shorter styles where you’d like a matte finish."
