Redken Powder Refresh 01 and Powder Grip 03 are two new wonder products from Redken with a powder consistency.
Powder Grip is a mattifying hair powder with a medium hold. Note: all Redken products have a number showing the strength of their hold.
"Use it on the day you wash your hair" says stylist Mags Chang. "It’s great for those with flat hair to give an instant volume at the roots by sprinkling a little of that on to give hair a bit of a zhush."
"I like to use it the day I wash my hair and blowdry" says Mags. "It helps me the next day to not get oil."
Mag’s hot tip: "Put it on the ends of your hair if you have curl to hold it, because curls collapse with oil."
Powder Refresh is aimed at prolonging a blow-dry. It’s a light dry shampoo (not as heavy strength as Fudge dry shampoo) with a neutral colour (not white like TRESemme dry shampoo) so it can be used on people with any colour hair including Asian, Polynesian and Maori hair which often find dry shampoo can leave a white residue on black hairtones. It has no hold.
Use it on day two or three after a blowdry to prolong the style and absorb excess oil.
Mag’s hot tip: "Don’t spray dry shampoos too close or you get a ‘powder blob’. Do it 20 cm away from the head to spread it and get a more even result."

The powder duo are available where Redken hair products are sold.
