Sara Allsop from Dharma in Mount Eden Auckland was named the 2011 New Zealand Hairdresser of the Year as part of the Schwarzkopf Professional Hair Expo Hairdressing Awards held on 13 June at a gala ceremony in Darling Harbour in Sydney.
Sara was one of two New Zealanders to win at the awards, with Paul Serville from the Servilles Academy taking home Education Organisation of the Year.
Celebrating their 26th anniversary, the annual Awards at Hair Expo are the longest running and most prestigious hairdressing awards in the Southern Hemisphere.
New Zealand Hairdresser of the Year is one of the most coveted of the awards and is judged by a panel of independent industry experts. The decision takes into account all aspects of the entrant’s hairdressing career, from their photographic collection to prior recognition and involvement in the industry.
