Hair Rescue

My hair got pretty much fried. I had a dip dye and it was stripped and it never recovered. I resigned to cutting it off each month. Schwarzkopf came to my rescue with a conditioning colour, Hydrocare, and Rescue Repair treatment…

My hair got pretty much fried.

It is bleached-out, dehydrated and the ends split quickly. It looks dry all the time, despite using conditioning sprays, colour-specific shampoos, and using the excellent Moroccan Oil after each shampoo.

The downside of doing beauty reviews is trying so many different things that sometimes your skin or hair can get a bit overloaded. Plus with being pregnant, my hair is additionally dehydrated.

I had a dip dye a while back, and the colour was stripped and it never recovered. I resigned to cutting split ends off each month.

After posting my plaintive woes on Facebook and Twitter, Schwarzkopf’s National Development Manager Natalie McCartney surprised me with a phonecall. They wanted to put my hair right, and they weren’t even responsible for damaging my hair! That is great service.

I went into Schwarzkopf’s stylist training centre in Mt Eden and met the fabulous Sarah Smith, their upper North Island Education and Training Manager, who came to my rescue. Sarah proposed a conditioning colour called Hydrocare then applying their Rescue Repair treatment.

Below: I had the Hydrocare shade 9.0 pictured below on the far right.

The Igora Vibrance Hydrocare is a demi-permanent colour, a term I wasn’t familiar with – it means it lasts around 20 washes. It goes on to dry hair rather than shampooed hair, took 20 minutes to process on me, and is designed for adding condition and gloss to porous, dehydrated hair. I also liked that it was ammonia-free. Sounded like it was made for me.

It felt cool on my scalp with none of the burning or itching that you can get with some ammonia haircolours.

Next I had Schwarzkopf’s Rescue Repair Treatment.

Below: My hair after. It felt much softer, and in far, far improved condition!

And because you have to maintain good hair once you leave the salon and return home, Sarah recommended I use Schwarzkopf’s Essencity shampoo and conditioner range at home to maintain hydration.

Thanks for my hair rescue!
