I’m packing a 45mm Remington.

Not a high calibre rifle but the equally powerful and high calibre new Remington Hot Brush ($79.95).

The hot brush creates volume and gives smooth styles with a 45mm ceramic barrel which locks in moisture to hair.

You turn it on and wait 2-3 minutes for it to heat up, to a variable heat up to 180ºC.

Hair rollers are a thing of the past.

You start with completely dry hair and part your hair into sections with clips. Take a section of hair and pull taut, down and away from the scalp. Holding the Hot Brush, wrap your hair around the hot barrel and wind up.

Hold the Hot Brush in place for 8-12 seconds. To remove, press the curl release button and carefully draw the Hot Brush away, allowing your hair to unwind automatically. Allow the curl to spring back before combing.

Pros:

A cool feature is that it has automatic worldwide voltage; you plug it in anywhere and it automatically adjusts to the local voltage.

Another good safety feature is the automatic safety shut off, to avoid fires.

Cons:

I managed to get my hair stuck in the bristles and I had to try to painfully extricate it, but it was my very first time and I am a bit of a hair appliance amateur! When I used smaller sections and combed them first, I avoided tangles.
