The Australian brand Showpony Hair Extensions is the official hair extensions sponsor of the Fashion Festival in 2014 once again, as they have been for the last five years, bringing big and bouncy or long and luscious hair to the catwalks.

Catarina Di Biase and Brad Ngata were key hair stylists working on the runway hairstyles at VAMFF 2014, using Showpony Hair extensions. Extensions are a BIG feature this year in all the key runway shows and they estimate that nearly 95% of the shows will be using extensions in one way or another.

Stephanie Mason of Showpony asked me if I’d like to have my hair made over using tapes, ponytails or clip-ins, and I chose the latter. I thought clip-ins would be perfect as you can put them in and out when desired. They are real hair, and can be washed, and curled or straightened.

I headed in to the very cool suburb of Fitroy to Heading Out salon in Brunswick Street, to meet their team and have a shampoo then clip-ins, and a style.

Below: Stylist Aaron and I with the finished result. I love it! They feel super-soft, and everyone did a double-take, and commented how it looked so real and they couldn’t tell which pieces were mine and which were extensions. They retail for around $329 and the shampoo and conditioner care kit for $75. They will clip them in for $15 when you purchase them, and a blowdry is extra.

For more information on Showpony and where to buy, see their website www.showponyaus.com.au or Heading Out Fitzroy at 225 Brunswick St on phone: 9419 1448.
