TREsemmé New Zealand treated thread to gorgeous new ‘dos on a wintery Auckland Monday as part of the launch of three new fantastic hairsprays joining the comprehensive and affordable range of products, and as a way of premiering the skills and talent of Chetan Mongia, TREsemmé’s Official Stylist, and the rest of the ‘dream team’ from the New Zealand Fashion Festival.

Jane’s a consummate do-er of her own hair – the TREsemmé team used mini GHDs and the amazing TREsemmé TRES Two firm control hairspray to do delightfully messy and casual curls that worked with her beautiful blonde hair to emphasise its colour and condition. The hot tips from her stylist included starting the curl further down the hair, and doing smaller sections for a more natural look.

I’m more of a hair novice – a challenge Chetan seemed delighted to assist me with!

Chetan’s award.

I looked through his outstanding portfolio while he showed me how to achieve a messy wave easily in my poker-straight, thick hair.

He divided my hair into four sections, and made four plaits- which were then flat ironed and sprayed with the TRES two spray, since its brushable texture means it can be used to assist with curl hold before styling. Once the waves were set by the heat, Chetan broke up the plaits with his fingers, leaving me with a good wave texture to build on.

He then demo’d a fishtail braid which he loosely pinned – I was left with a gorgeous messy up do that I definitely will be replicating!

The outstanding texture of the new TRES two hairspray has made me a convert; no residue, no stickiness, and a perfect light natural hold. I’m even inspired to try some of the tips for backcombing Chetan shared with me.

After photos with the team – both publicity and some taken by Chetan’s proud dad, who was a hairdresser to royalty in India – we braved the weather to head off into the world, with fabulous hair!
