Not one to take things lion down, Kate Hudson is putting her mane where her mouth is.
She is the face and hair fronting the animal-friendly, paraben-free hair range David Babaii for WildAid, launching in New Zealand in February.
David is a celebrity hairstylist and some of his clients include Kate Hudson, Angelina Jolie, Nicole Kidman, Scarlett Johansson to name just a few. Kate Hudson is the face of WildAid, fronting its commercials, as she said she identified with its "ecologically responsible and animal-friendly manner that helps preserve wildlife."
10% of the revenue from the sales of Babaii’s products will be donated to the wildlife conservation organization WildAid. WildAid, who campaigns worldwide to end illegal wildlife trade, works with governments and communities to raise awareness and stop the buying of endangered wild animals and products.
The products are great – they have exotic ingredients from nature including volcanic ash, Cupucacu butter, Blue Algae, Wild Orchid, Kiwi, Mango, Jojoba seed, and Dead Sea Salt all part of the exclusive blend. The range is free of Sulfates, Parabens, Petrochemicals, and any animal products. And, of course, free from animal testing.
I tried the Hydrating Shampoo and Hydrating Conditioner. I can definitely say my hair feels very nice and soft and dare I say, bouncy as a lion cub.
An interesting product in the line is the Bohemian Beach Spray ($32.95), a styling spray to rough it up in the vein of the many salt sprays that have been around for a couple of years, but using volcanic ash from Vanuatu as well as sea salt from the Dead Sea.
The shampoos will retail at $29.95 from February 2011 at Farmers, Radius Pharmacy, Pret-A-Porter salon and leading pharmacies and health stores. For more info see www.db4wildaid.com.au
