Kérastase Paris has created Age Premium, a line of restorative hair care to meet the specific needs of mature women aged 55+. The Age Premium collection works to give hair more lift and support to its structure, strength and resistance.

Up until now, despite a plethora of skincare aged at mature women, there hasn’t been a specific haircare solution for women aged over 55 years.

The three phenomena specific to mature hair are fibro-porosity, loss of density and dry scalp. Kérastase Paris has created Age Premium to target these signs of ageing scalps and hair utlising a new technology called Systeme Pro-supplenium, Intra-Cyclane and Hyaluronic Acid.

It’s the the first time for Kérastase Paris that Hyaluronic Acid has been transferred to haircare. Like on the skin, Hyaluronic Acid allows for the rebalancing of the scalp. It also moisturises and smoothes the scalp leaving it hydrated, nourished, regaining its original vitality.

Systeme Pro-supplenium combines a calcium derivative, a Vitamin F derivataive, Ceramide, UV filter, pomegranate extract and Vitamin E.

I used the shampoo, Age Premium Bain Substantif ($36.00), and the conditioner, Masque Substantif ($62.00). They are both lightly fragranced with a classic ‘perfume’ scent, rather than a herbal or botanical. The main thing I noticed was their hydrating effect. The creamy formulas felt very rich and moisturising. For extra treatment there’s also an in-salon ritual (approx $30) to revitalise hair.

The range also includes a firm hold finishing spray for mature hair, Laque Substantif ($38.00) containing the anti-oxidant pomegranate extract to restore natural shine and protect hair fibre.
