We attended the brunch for Rachel Hunter and daughter Renee Stewart on Friday and saw a sleek, trim Rachel sans extensions and a fresh-faced Renee.
Rachel always maintained she wasn’t encouraging her daughter to enter modelling – unlike Rod’s other daughter Kimberly Stewart, daughter of Rod’s first wife Alana Stewart, also a model – but apparently the gorgeous brunette 17 year old dance student is a natural. And perhaps the contract rumoured to be over $100,000 also helps towards buying all those dance shoes?
The Kiwi supermodel, known by only her first name as so iconic since those early Trumpet ad days, returned home to promote the brand which made her famous in the 90s, will join Renee in a television campaign reprising Rachel’s famous catchphrase “it won’t happen overnight…but it will happen”.
At the brunch Rachel spoke very little on how it was to be back in NZ or any personal details but focused tightly on the product; new generation Pantene, the biggest launch for Pantene in 10 years. Rachel commented how Renee was delivering her TV commercial script lines perfectly first time, very unlike herself when she started out, which got a laugh from the audience.
Below: Rachel and Renee on TV’s ‘Breakfast’, wearing ANZAC poppies and of course Pantene.
Rachel looked very highlighted yet in great condition and full of shine, and said she had got rid of the extensions and a bad haircut. She is sporting a layered cut these days `reminiscent of the other famous Rachel, "The Rachel" haircut from ‘Friends’, but thankfully unlike Jennifer Aniston, she didn’t flick it around all the time.
They both wore jeans tucked into boots. Renee wore a nude draped top and Rachel wore a charcoal-almost-black jacket over a black scoopneck with a few gold chains.
The new Pantene television advertisements are set to screen in New Zealand next month.
