Servilles stylists and their guests celebrated a new collaboration with Wella on Monday 29th July with ‘Deadly Sins’, a live fashion and hair editorial photo shoot.
After more than two decades with L’Oreal, Paul Serville and his executive team felt they were ready for a change in keeping with their culture and mission. To kick this collaboration off, the idea to hold a live photoshoot was born.
Servilles Academy on Queen Street in Auckland was an ideal venue for an audience of more than fifty special guests, media, industry, stylists, and Academy graduates, for the photoshoot taking place before our eyes. Models from five agencies spent the day being made up and styled, and by the evening were ready for the photoshoot on stage.
London-based photographer Andrew O’Toole, a successful and highly acclaimed photographer, worked alongside award-winning hairstylists Frank Apostolopoulos and Joey Scandizzo to create the amazing shots which were showcased on a live feed from the camera to the big screen.
It was a unique experience for all to see what happens on a shoot. Below: model Laura Scaife (from New Zealand’s Next Top Model) with blue-tinted cropped blonde hair for the shoot.
I met a young newcomer to the modelling scene on her first ever modelling assignment which became possible because her mother, an ex-Servilles model, asked her old friend Paul Serville if her daughter could get some experience. Rupet Bond, a year 12 girl from Nelson, travelled to Auckland that day to get a taste of model life. Evidenced by her photo, she definitely has the right look. (Photo: Stacey Gillies)
