The talented and creative Servilles team interpreted L’Oreal Professionel’s Spring/Summer 2013 collection ‘Somptueux’ live on the catwalk at NZ Fashion Weekend on Sunday 9th September.

The haute couture hair show ‘Somptueux Collection Show’ was one of the highlights of my week, with its completely out-there presentations of hair-meets-fashion-meets-art.

Costuming included lingerie pieces by Triumph costumised with sticky tape and high fashion garments by Trelise Cooper, as well as some amazing accessories and styling throughout.

The visual spectacles on display were tied together with the use of music, to make a feast for the senses. Each of four sections had audio-visual references on the screen and soundtrack to complete the big picture.

The show began with the rhythms of a Japanese drumming performance on the catwalk.

First up was ‘Swans’ by Steve Cockle and Jacqui Joe, with Black Swan ballet-inspired tutus and corsetry.

The second show was ‘Mods’ by Kyla Rose with a 1960s Twiggy section in monochrome.

Third up was ‘Ziggy’ with David Bowie music and film clips and some stunning Seventies costuming.

Fourthly, ‘Colours’ took to the stage with multi-hued afro wigs applied to sequin hand-appliqued bodysuit-clad models live on chairs.
