5 Beauty It-Items

Whilst some cosmetic bags may only carry a few things, and some a whole collection of makeup, I would fall in between.

I always carry some essential items and maybe a little bit more- just a little bit!

It is always interesting to see what is in someone’s cosmetic bag. This curiosity inspired me to share my top 5 It-Items.

Mirror

What is a cosmetic bag without a mirror? I have a slight habit of carrying at least two or three mirrors in my bag. I call it a minor obsession. The one I carry around the most in my cosmetic bag is by Jill Stuart. I came across this one at the Duty Free Department Store in Seoul. It actually fits my whole face in it (which is harder than it sounds), and light enough to be carried everywhere. I have loved this mirror for 3 years now and hands down it is one of the best purchases I have made.

Eyelash Curler

Some love them, some don’t get them and some actually find them quite scary to use. I love them.. I have loved them since I was a teenager. I have long straight lashes so curling them is a must. I have always had a thing about long curly lashes. They are so flirtatious. I am jealous of people with naturally long and curled lashes. But as long as I have these curlers, I’m not so jealous after all. Practice will be needed when using the curlers for the first time, so do ask for tips at the counter if you are thinking of purchasing one. Some recommendations of brands include M.A.C, Shu Uemura, Shiseido and Bobbi Brown.

M.A.C Cosmetics Pearlglide Intense Eye Liner- #Lord It Up

I have used so many eyeliners in my lifetime and this is the only eyeliner I must buy everytime I run out. It is a smudge-proof eyeliner that is rich in colour and has a touch of shimmer and sparkle. It is creamy in texture but hard enough to draw with definition. Once set, it doesn’t move and because of the pearl-like shimmer, it creates dimension to the eye and is very wearable for an everyday look. Most of the time I only use this one product to create depth to my eyes by lining the top and outer corner of my eyes. Simple and very effective. It comes in a variety of colours so go and check them out next time you come across a M.A.C counter; they are too gorgeous to be missed.

L’Occitane Hand Cream- #Honey

I am very particular when it comes to hand creams. They need to be light and moisturising and have the right scent that lasts more than a couple of minutes. L’Occitane is well known for their hand creams for their texture, moisture and the range of fragrances. Personally, the Honey handcream that was originally a limited edition is the winner. I never buy two of the same because I like to try different products, but I bought two of these in a heart-beat; another reason being that they don’t make Honey in the larger tube.

This handcream actually makes me feels like I have just smeared honey all over my hands- without all the stickiness.

M.A.C Lipstick

I will always have at least two colours of M.A.C lipstick. Whether it is something dark, bright or very neutral, I will always have at least two in my bag so that I have the option to change colour depending on how I feel throughout the day. I usually like to start the morning with just a light dash of lipgloss and put a colour on after my morning coffee. I love it how a simple thing like a colour on the lips can instantly change your look, and even your mood. Some of my favourites at the moment are Vegas Volt, Velvet Teddy and Diva.

I hope reading these 5 It-Items of mine has motivated you to look through your top beauty items and get to know why you love them so much. It will help you appreciate them more!
