M.A.C loves to tell a tale, even via comic books – it did so with Wonder Woman last year – and now has released the most divine range in homage to the iconic comic strip, Archie, with Betty and Veronica fighting for his affections.
Which are you? I’m leaning towards Betty myself.
Betty is the blonde girl next door, butter-wouldn’t-melt-girl, with a collection full of Cream Soda blushes and Comic Cute nailpolishes.
Veronica is the brunette femme fatale that will steal your boyfriend and then tweet about it. She has a collection filled with Bad Bad Black mascaras and Pin-up Purple eyeshadows.
Thread’s pick of the bunch would be the Pearlmatte Face Powder at $60 which had a highlighting powder, AND a blush, in tiny hearts, and also includes a mirror. That’s really good value in this range. There’s three lipsticks in each girl’s range at $44, three Lipglasses in each at $42, Opulash mascara at $42, eyeliners at $42, blushes at $52, and the priciest piece in the range is the eyeshadow quads at $116 for Caramel Sundae pink-brown colourways in Betty and Spoiled Rich purple colourways in Veronica.
Will young girls know of Archie’s comics? Perhaps not, but M.A.C will introduce a whole new gen to their delights, via Archie’s Girls. You don’t even HAVE to wear them teamed with a tight sweater and a milkshake, but why not try it?
You can buy M.A.C Archie’s Girls at all M.A.C locations in New Zealand for a limited time from March 2013.
