Girls who like the drama of a eye liner and lashes of black mascara will be overjoyed at the latest releases out January 2012 from L’Oreal Paris and Maybelline New York as there are plenty of black eyes amongst them…
If you’re over a smudged smoky eye and want high impact, then the clean and intense look of a gel eyeliner is for you.
Maybelline have released new colours of charcoal and aubergine in its Eye Studio Lasting Drama gel eyeliner ($19.99). It comes with a brush you dip into the gel pot, wipe off exess, and wipe across the lash line until you reach the desired effect. It is waterproof and safe for contact lense wearers.
For a felt-tip pen effect, Maybelline brings the Master Precise Liquid Liner ($19.99) a soft-touch brush with the sharpest point. Both the gel eyeliner and liquid liner are complemented with great lasings of black mascara. They are releasing the Great Lash LOL (Lots of Lashes) Mascara also at $19.99 and the Volum’ Express One by One Mascara ($23.99). Both have flexible and colourful brushes that appeal to a market new to using mascara and at a price they can afford.
L’Oreal is also releasing a gel liner this January. Its new SuperLiner gel eyeliner has concentrated pigments for a bold result and retails for $28.99.
The L’Oreal felt-tip eyeliner, also called SuperLiner, comes in two shades, black and silver black. I tried silver black but think I prefer plain black as the silvery finish wasn’t as bold as I like the finish to look. It was very easy to use though but is so loaded with product that it comes on very thick and fast, so have a very light touch with it.
There’s a new eye shadow colourway in their Color Infallible range of excellent shadows; 13 Burning Black ($21.99) and a new mascara; the Lash Architect 4D Black Lacquer ($35.99) with scultping fibres for a 4D effect: volumising, lengthening, texturising and curling lashes.
So there are plenty of ways to get to the dark side this season. You’ll be sporting black eyes painlessly!
