Ashleigh trialled the new Liquiline Blast ($17.99) in Blue Boom.
"The application was brilliant – smooth and easy. The smudge tip was angled beautifully and meant I was able to get exactly the look I wanted on the eyelid. I found that without using a primer under my eyes, it smudged fairly quickly, but with a primer it stayed on beautifully and began only to shift after 5 hours."
"The colour is gorgeous and vibrant, and the pencil allows for thin application so it doesn’t end up looking "too much" for daytime use. I will definitely be using this eyeliner again, but more so for nights out as the staying power isn’t quite there all day use."
Athalia Bond tried out Covergirl Liquiline Blast and LashBlast Fusion…
When I was offered the chance to review Covergirl’s two latest releases – the new Liquiline Blast and LashBlast Fusion – my first thoughts were “generosity” and “popularity.” What better way to win some favour in my friends’ eyes (no pun intended) than by offering the free samples to them and garnering their responses. We all know there is no better way to a girl’s heart than through free cosmetic samples!
However, the samples arrival coincided with the weekly disappearance of my own eyeliner (yes – this is a weekly occurrence) and the tail end dregs of my mascara. Any beneficent thoughts I may have had quickly flew out the window and, thanking the Gods of Cosmetic Samples in the Heavens Above, I quickly claimed these samples as my own.
As we all know though – free make up does not equal great makeup! So it was with great quavering (and the knowledge of an impending date and no backup plan in the makeup department) that I applied first the Liquiline Blast and, secondly, the LashBlast fusion.
Easy Breezy application on both fronts – so two points there.
The Liquiline Blast gave me a great dramatic Cleopatra eyeline – Hello Julius – in absolutely record time. I am a no fuss kind of girl so I was very happy here!
But the real killer for me was the LashBlast Fusion. I was apprehensive of the purple space age packaging (as I said I am a no fuss kind of girl – so I generally head for mascara packaging in black – plain black) but the application was great and the result was amazing. I had to take a few minutes to appreciate the final effect in the mirror – hello false lash effect – goodbye to my plain old black packaged mascara forever – give me space age any day I say!
But the final test was yet to come. I headed off on my date – confident in my Cleopatra eyeline and my magnificent flutter worthy lashes – to test these in the boy department. And soon found them being tested in the weather department. Date #3 just happened to be an adventure date – Hello Wind and Rain on the Wild West coast of New Zealand! And four hours later – safe back at home on dry land – I can say these new products stood up to the test. My eyes remained Cleopatra-like with wonderful false lashness and no running. Say it with me now – Easy BREEZY Beautiful Covergirl!
