It’s always a treat to find beauty where you don’t expect it. A flash of a red umbrella on a rainy day, a pink lip forming a smile when you’re having a rough morning, and the perennial delight of a plant battling the odds to bloom unexpectedly on a city street.

With this in mind, Elizabeth Arden have taken a fresh look at make-up inspired by the beauty of flowers found blooming in the city, for their Spring 2013/14 colour collection entitled, New York in Bloom.

I shot the new colour collection amongst plants in my Auckland garden that I thought complemented their shades of pops of vivid colour.

The limited edition range includes Pure Finish Radiant Bronzing Powder in Soft and Warm at $69, Eye Shadow Trio in Viridian Bloom and Violet Bloom at $79, Bold Eye Pencil in Iridescent Teal, Platinum Glow and Terra at $35, and Nail Lacquer Duo in Purple Orchid and Teal Blossom at $29.

ELIZABETH ARDEN’S NEW YORK IN BLOOM Spring/Summer 2013 Limited Edition Color Collection is available from Elizabeth Arden counters from 1 August 2013.
