Eye of Horus is a new natural eye-make up collection created by two young Australian women, Amy Lennane and Holly Spierings, who wanted to create the make-up looks of the Ancient Egyptians, without the chemicals found in other eye make-up.

Amy and Holly suffered from sensitive eyes and fine, brittle lashes so after discovering how Ancient Egyptians blended ingredients, they created this non-irritating range. It has three initial products, all for eyes: a mascara, liquid liner felt tip and a eye pencil.

I’m wearing them all now, and found them really easy to apply, and exceptionally mild to use – in fact they’re safe for sensitive eyes and contact lens wearers. The mascara is made with plant based ingredients and waxes including Carnauba wax, Beeswax, Rice Bran wax and Candelilla wax and is paraben-free. I found the mascara went on without any clumping and was buildable; I’m wearing three coats on my lashes for extra volume.

The Eye of Horus Mascara retails for $44.00, Eye of Horus Liquid Eyeliner $39.00, and Eye of Horus Eye Pencil $39.00. For stockists see www.eyeofhorus.net.nzn or phone 0800 787 367.
