Make-up artist Julia O’Neil took us through the latest make-up looks with a New York edge on models wearing Glassons, at the new season launch of Maybelline New York makeup yesterday at Ponsonby Central, with a room decked out in Americana for the New York theme.

Even the food was straight form the Big Apple with pizza, bagels and soda with straws. I was lucky enough to have a make-over with Jula O’Neil using the new Maybelline New York Color Tattoo 24Hr Metallics eyeshadows and the new Instant Age Rewind ‘The Lifter’ Foundation.

The event launch was to celebrate not one but seven new products. The colour products include Volum’ Express Mega Plush Mascara ($23.99) – the world’s first gel-mousse mascara, Dream Pure BB Cream ($19.99), Color Sensational Whisper Lipstick ($14.99) – a translucent gel colour in eight shades, and Eye Studio Color Tattoo 24Hr now in Metallics ($13.99). In foundation products, they are launching a liquid base with a prime – Instant Age Rewind ‘The Lifter’ Foundation ($35.99), and a mattifying powder in three shades – SuperStay 24Hr Waterproof Powder ($25.99). There’s also a line of sparkly nail lacquers in sensibly smaller sizes for a low price of $8.49 called ‘Show The Sequins.’
