I had never tried eyelash extensions, says Robecca. So, when the chance came up for me to try them, I thought "why not?" After all, mascara is difficult to apply while driving…
I have never been one for fiddly make-up or hair. I am a clothes girl through and through.
I’m happy to try new things (as long as I can apply them in the car on the way to where I’m going) and then dedicate my time to my truest love; clothes. That’s why I had never actually heard of eyelash extensions. I didn’t even know they were possible. So, when the chance came up for me to try them, I thought "why not?" After all, mascara is difficult to apply while driving…
When I arrived at Blink, a few nerves set in. I wasn’t sure exactly what to expect and I found it hard to imagine that something to do with my eye could take over an hour. Speaking to the technician my nerves were set at ease when the next hour was explained to me: Tape would be placed over my bottom lashes and each extension would be individually placed on each lash (hence the time). After picking the length I wanted (No Drag Queen please), I lay down and as the technician started I tried not to drift to sleep. Public snoring is embarrassing.

After no time at all, the tape was removed and I was told I could open my eyes. I groggily blinked a few times and was presented with my reflection. My lashes looked like I had bought the world’s best mascara and managed to not clump even one little lash. AMAZING. the best thing about them was that they didn’t feel heavy like falsies. They felt light, like nothing unnatural or heavy was there at all.

Final verdict is that they are a definite to get at least once in your life. You’ll probably wind up addicted to getting them. They are fairly easy to maintain, through the few instructions you’re given; follow them. It will make all the difference between them lasting a month or a week.
I am a fidgeter and I ended up picking and playing with them till they all pretty much were gone within 10 days. Luckily enough they girls at Blink are lovely, and offered to let me try again. This time I opted for only half a set (from the middle to the outer, to see if I could manage them better. And I did. A month later they still look good and I’m still not wearing mascara.
