Now, they’re changing their name and we love it! ???Glamorpuss is now…APOTHEKA (apothekaboutique.co.nz). Marianne Welch tells us about the name change for her fabulous store of high quality makeup and skincare brands…

"We (founders Marianne Welch and Rachel McNaughton) opened Glamorpuss in late 2002. We had hunted down cult beauty products that we had found overseas, and brought these back to our new boutique.

Our name was tongue in cheek and light-hearted – we thought shopping for makeup should be a fun (rather than intimidating) experience.

We’ve loved being called Glamorpuss Cosmetics for the last eleven years, but now it’s time for a change.

We’re re-naming our store APOTHEKA. It is inspired by the idea of a modern apothecary that is home to an edited collection of our favourite skin care and cosmetics brands.

APOTHEKA reflects our commitment to selecting products that offer genuine solution to skin care concerns. We only stock products that we have personally trialed and use ourselves. We know that our clients – men and women – are discerning and sophisticated, and they are looking for friendly and informed advice as well as the best products for their skin.

We have always looked for products that are innovative and effective and increasingly, our emphasis is on stocking products that are natural and organic – this is a hugely important criteria for us now. Our brands include A Beautiful Life, BECCA, Blinc, Duwop, Greenland, Duwop Beauty, Japonesque, Mario Badescu, Pai Skincare, Rosebud, Tweezerman, The Brow Gal, and Swittools.

We have always been cruelty-free, and this remains of the utmost importance to us. The founders of Glamorpuss/APOTHEKA are committed to animal welfare and we thoroughly condemn the cruel and unnecessary practice of testing beauty products on animals. We only stock products that never test on animals.
