The night at the Stamford was a practical workshop whereby each guest had the opportunity to try on the products that were being presented by Miranda and her brand ambassador – Michael Brown.
Thread headed along last Thursday night to Stamford Plaza in Auckland, to hear the story of Miranda Bond of INIKA.
Inika Skin Care was formed in 2006 after Miranda, who struggled with endometriosis and trying to conceive, decided to change her diet and way of living after reading ‘Hormone Heresy’ by Dr Sherrill Sellman. By taking the steps outlined in the book Miranda cleared herself completely of endometriosis and became pregnant within 3 months.
This new change in lifestyle encouraged Miranda to help other women and soon she found herself launching a natural range, with friend Jenni Williams, free of synthetic chemicals and harmful ingredients.
The night at the Stamford was a practical workshop where each guest had the opportunity to try on the products that were being presented by Miranda and her brand ambassador, Australian celebrity make-up artist, Michael Brown.
Michael provided fantastic tips on how to apply make up correctly:
• Shiny skin is a clue that your skin is dehydrated and the oil is rising to the surface.
• To keep makeup looking fab you need to “Ace your Base” – if you want your makeup to stay on a long time i.e. over 8 hours then you should use a primer followed by a primer mixed with foundation.
• Pat and dab for a fuller coverage or use sweeping movements of the brush for a lighter coverage.
• Apply less foundation around the expressive areas of your face.
• When using concealer you only need 3 dots on the inner eye not right to the outer eye area.
My favourite product in the range was a beautiful peachy blush called ‘Peachy Keen.’ This mineral style blusher will go a long way and gives you the most amazing fresh-faced cheeks, just like they’ve been pinched.
The Inika range is available from pharmacies, health stores and department stores around New Zealand. For more information of the full range you can check out the website, and even ask for samples, at www.inika.com.au
