Modernist is referencing the Sixties. There’s a massive return to mascara. Also, a return to the stromg brow.

Disco Tech. "You automatically think, ‘glitter!" says Amber. But this is very polished, almost mannequin-like.

Tough Love is all about androgyny. "There’s an agression in how make-up is aplied" Amber says.

Amber-gris is about very buttery, very seamless make-up, and warming product into the skin. We see the same colour used on the eyes as on the cheek; the same on cheeks as on lips.

Stylist Dan Ahwa dressed the models – each showing one of the four new make-up trends- in new season SS12 garments.

Amber Dreadon and Nicole Thompson made up models in two more of the key trends.

Amber talks the audience through the make-up look she’s applying, in the cool warehouse space in Auckland’s downtown Britomart district.

Beauty media could play with the products as Amber D spoke about them. The new products come out 15 August so stay tuned.
