The theme of ‘Modern Art’ made its way onto naked people, bodypainted with great 20th century works of art, at the M.A.C. official opening party for NZ Fashion Week, where the best-dressed were those not dressed at all.
"Art, fashion and the naked form" was the byline for the opening party, with 8 models showcasing the styles of artists including Andy Warhol, Roy Lichenstein, Jackson Pollock and more.
Twenty five M.A.C. make-up artists worked backstage creating the looks.
The writing’s on the floor: M.A.C.
Auckland Mayor Len Brown welcomes guests – and can’t avoid mentioning the rugby – in the brand spanking new Viaduct Events Centre. Fashion Week is only its second ever event, after early August’s Auckland Art Fair.

Moet & Chandon keeps the party going, as guests listen to the opening speeches, by Len Brown, Minister for the Rugby World Cup Hon Murray McCully, and Fashion Week Director, Pieter Stewart.
Stewart dropped the bombshell that unless Government or a sponsor steps up, there may be no fashion week next year. Step up, someone!
