The new Matte Morphose souffle foundation from L’Oréal Paris is perhaps the easiest to apply foundation ever! We trial it, and two new lipsticks from the L’Oreal Color Riche range…
L’Oréal Paris has just released Matte Morphose ($41.99), a soufflé foundation similar to Maybelline’s Dream Matte Mousse foundation but even lighter.
It proports to create a no-streaks finish that "smoothes over fine lines and erases pores for a 12 hour matte yet luminous result." I didn’t find it lasted 12 hours; I did some touch ups after about 8 hours – which is not at all bad – before heading out at night. They are not wrong about the "matte" it its title; it is incredibly matte to the point of being dry. I think I still prefer their Infallible liquid foundation from the L’Oreal range for good coverage with a nice moist dewy finish and long lasting quality. Where the mousse ruled supreme was in the application; extremely light to touch and incredibly easy to apply using fingertips.
Also new from L’Oréal Paris comes nine vibrant shades from the Colour Riche Intense lipstick range ($22.99 each).
Our tester, Liz, says, "I have been trialling two lipsticks from the L’Oreal Color Riche range in the shades of Plum Passion and Intense Fuschia.
They are true to their classification of intense – Plum Passion contains hues of deep purple which contrast well when worn with black.
Intense fuschia is definitely for the brave of face and will be a real asset when spring florals burst through in a few months time.
I have used the Color Riche range previously and found them to be moisture rich and glossy. Sadly, this new range seemed drier and feels less comfortable on my lips."
