The latest colour collection from Clarins, ‘Ombre Minerale’, is a strong, intense graphic collection which includes an amazing black sparkle eyeshadow, a powder compact with a cool graphic design pattern, and an all-new 3-Dot Liner pen.

Colour Accents Face & Blush Powder ($76) is a highlight of the collection. I personally use and adore Clarins face powders, and the illuminating look they give, with a high quality, smooth finish (that doesn’t go cloggy in your pores or sweat off). This has a graphic, geometric design, combining rosy pink, and nudes from pale shades through to deeper nude shades, for bronzing.
The 3-Dot Liner ($51) is the most ‘revolutionary’ of the collection’s products, as it really is something quite unique. Just as it says on the tin, it’s a three dot liner pen that you dot along the root of each lash for an extremely precise line. Does not smudge or run.
The single Mineral Eyeshadows can be used wet or dry, and come in finishes ranging from matte to satin, and pearl to shimmer. Thread’s pick is the Black Sparkle for night-time glamour, and the Taupe which is a safe mushroom shade that suits all. They are creamy and well-pigmented.
If you’re looking for something a bit different, try the Instant Definition Mascara in Intense Plum ($49). Plum is such a classic Fall/Autumn shade, and actually is really flattering on, particularly on us women over thirty who want a rich, deep look, but not too harsh. It features a Clarins innovation of a double brush – a fibre brush to thicken lashes, and an elastometer brush with short spikes to reach shorter lashes.
Rouge Prodige lipsticks ($49) have four new Autumnal shades in 132 Spiced Orange, 133 Fig, 134 Orchid Pink, and 135 Dark Cherry.
