Some makeup trends are hard to give up. Personally I’m a little stuck in my mid-twenties when lipstick was matte finish and a very dark shade. It was with some trepidation therefore that I agreed to try the new Rimmel London Vinyl Max Gloss.
As if to challenge my makeup rut I received the hot pink #301 Addictive.
This lip gloss certainly lives up to its many claims. The thick formula was applied with just one coat using a delightfully oversized super soft applicator. The effect was instant; I achieved strong colour, high gloss and a perfect pout. This plumping effect is due to the volumising complex which contains hyaluronic spheres, tiny balls of moisture which smooth and magnify.
The only drawback being I constantly felt that I was consuming those plumping spheres and as they say, from the lips to the hips.
If you love super glossy lips, strong on colour and a perfect pout then this is the product for you. I would certainly wear it for a night out on the town where Vinyl on your lips would not seem out of place, but for day-to-day gloss I would stick to a lighter formula.
Available November from Farmers, Kmart and selected The Warehouse stores retailing for $18.99.
