Sunday Painters cafe in Ponsonby Road hosted the launch of Dermalogica SkinPerfect Primer, an anti-aging primer which left Shona, the makeover model, with glowing and gorgeous skin.

This primer is one of those products that makes it hard for me to put into a subcategory on the website – I have to choose from ‘make-up’ or ‘skincare’ – as it falls neatly into both.

It gives a polished, smooth finish correcting skin irregularities, so it is a make-up product. But it also uses pearl powder and soy protein to stimulate cell renewal with the latest professional skincare technology to improve your skin, so it’s a skincare product, too.

I’m wearing it now, and it has a fairly thick consistency and a strong tint to it, so it feels quite like a tinted moisturiser in feel and gives a good coloured base to the face. It has silica for a very smooth, even feel and finish. To address skin ageing, it contains white tea, peptides and Sodium Hyaluronate.

Below: Aptly for a cafe named ‘Sunday Painters’, the cards were propped up on a painting easel. Very cute.

Shona from Spark Activate PR is the gorgeous model for the make-over.

The finished result: glowing and gorgeous skin.

The Dermalogica range on display at Sunday Painters.

Dermalogica Age Smart SkinPerfect Primer SPF30 retails for $98 for a 22ml tube which they estimate will last around a couple of months.

Buy Age Smart SkinPerfect Primer SPF30 wherever Dermalogica is sold. See www.dermalogica.co.nz for stockist details.
