I’m wearing the Smashbox foundation ‘Studio Skin’, their latest creation designed to hang around for a good time AND a long time.
The foundation, which comes in a pump bottle and retails for $75, is an ultra long-wearing, hydrating formula with UVA/UVB SPF 10.
It blurs imperfections using light-diffusing pigment spheres and I found the coverage to be medium strength and natural-looking in appearance; I’d use a concealor as well for extra coverage.
I like that, being humidity-resistant it’s ideal for muggy Auckland weather. I really like that it contains no parabens too.
You can prep skin with the excellent Smashbox Photo Finish Primer to start, and finish with the first product to launch from the new Photo Set family by Smashbox; Photo Set Finishing Powder, also with SPF15+, and retails for $55. It’s a matte, oil-absorbing translucent powder to set and further blur fine lines.
This is ideal if you want a completely clear powder to set your make-up without adding more colour and having your foundation altered. Also, I like that adding another SPF15 product increases your face’s sun protection through layering of products.
Smashbox is available from selected Life Pharmacies and beauty spas nationwide, at the Smashbox store on Ponsonby Road, and online at www.smashboxcosmetics.co.nz
