Phoenix is holding the first runway show dedicated entirely to makeup at this year’s NZ Fashion Weekend; a star-studded show in two respects; makeup artists are using Swarovski Crystals, and the models are stars of Shortland Street…

Sure, fashion week is all about the clothes.

But the make-up is almost as key in creating the overall look.

To celebrate this, Phoenix House of Makeup is holding the first runway show dedicated entirely to makeup at this year’s NZ Fashion Weekend…

It’s a star-studded show in two respects; makeup artists are using Swarovski Crystals, and the models are stars of Shortland Street.

Phoenix Cosmetics will be modelled by several TV2 Shortland Street actors including Faye Smythe (aka Nurse Tania Jeffries)

Sally Martin (aka Nurse Nicole Miller),

Kimberley Crossman (aka Sophie McKay)

and Frankie Adams (aka Ula Levi).

The actresses will be joined by local singers Zeisha Fremaux and Hayley Fisher, and fashion blogger, Claire Hahn.

“We’re delighted to be working with Swarovski Crystals to create something really special with body crystals – it’s going to be an amazing showcase of makeup teamed with fashion,” said founder Phoenix Renata.

“You’ll be treated to an exclusive sneak peak at our brand new colour collection, 5 Shades of Summer,” she said.

She says the collection hits all the major trends for summer 2011, featuring looks that are light and carefree, playfully romantic, dazzling and sparking, and everything in between.

To Renata, this is more than just a fashion show. “Phoenix-House of Makeup is showcasing the importance and relevance of makeup in a show that focuses solely on makeup artistry at its finest.”
