Dressed in green – and so soon after St Patrick’s Day – we headed into Auckland Town Hall for the pre-launch presentation of Broadway musical WICKED, coming to Auckland from 21st September 2013…
Tickets to the musical blockbuster will go on sale to the general public on Monday 8 April at 9am for the season beginning at Auckland’s historic Civic Theatre on Saturday 21 September. We’re pleased to hear it’s the full Broadway version, not a scaled down version by any means.
Mike Hosking hosted the publicity launch tonight introducing Co-producer John Frost and the lead roles of witches Elphaba and Glinda as Jemma Rix and Suzie Mathers respectively.
WICKED is the untold story of the witches of Oz. Long before Dorothy drops in, two other girls meet in the Land of Oz, one born with emerald green skin, is smart, ?ery and misunderstood. The other is beautiful,
ambitious and very popular. WICKED tells the story of their remarkable odyssey, how these two unlikely friends grow to become the Wicked Witch of the West and Glinda the Good.
