Andrea Moore’s AW13 show opened with the sound of running horses followed by a throng of models with their hair up in a ponytail that resembles a horse’s mane. Entitled "The Hunt", it was hands down, one of the most "true-to-theme" shows all across Fashion Week.
There’s a bunch of things I loved about this collection. For starters, I loved the colour palette, which dominantly consisted of primary and intermediate colours. Sometimes, it really pays off to go back to basics.
The selection of prints is noteworthy too. Zigzag prints seem to be going big(ger) come autumn and winter. I also loved the sheer, green-printed fabrics that resembled the silhouette of a tree-lined forest.
The print that rises above them all would have to be the horse print (as seen in the red power suit). It’s too pretty; I need not explain why.
And last but not the least, I greatly appreciate Andrea Moore for giving us a collection that presented frocks that will actually keep us warm in the seasons ahead. I loved every blazer, knitwear and coat that went down that catwalk.
For a self-confessed summer baby like me, it’ll take a pretty marvelous collection to make me excited for winter and evidently, The Hunt did exactly that.
Napoleon Perdis cosmetics created the face for Andrea Moore’s show inspired by a beautiful huntress into the thrill of the chase. Below: The face chart for the look.
