Charlie Brown showed her winter collection ‘Naughty & Nice’ at fashion week with two stories: military luxe and an Oriental-themed Indochine opium den..
The show is this year’s only international label presenting, and it did look it. In our local market it might best be compared to Trelise Cooper; glam for the classic woman who wants to be youthful. There is camo, sequins, satin, scarf print and of course the uniform of this set; leopard.
Models walked out of a giant mouth like a Rolling Stones stage set.
What are the clothes like? It looks rich, and you look rich wearing it. You wouldn’t wear a white satin puffer jacket and a white pencil skirt if you couldn’t keep up the drycleaning bills now could you.
I had special adoration for the white snakeskin heels with shiny silver toecaps. Sadly one model didn’t cope with the high heels and Mayor Len Brown stepped up from his front row seat to help her to her feet. What a gentleman.
Charlie Brown is available at Smith & Caughey, Kirkcaldie & Stains, their flagship store in Newmarket and online store http://www.charliebrown.com.au
