I never thought I would be mentioning puffer jackets in a Trelise Cooper review- but they did make an appearance albeit trimmed with the obligatory ruffles and sure to be adorning the corporate boxes of the looming Rugby World Cup…

A Trelise Cooper show is always a guaranteed visual spectacular and as always the divine Ms TC did not disappoint. Although not clearly marked, the show opened with a collection from the Cooper by Trelise range but as the most regular of designers showing at NZFW we should all know how it works by now and not need to be told.

I can honestly say I did not expect such a collection of wearable pared back pieces with strong military grunge influences and a smattering of plaid.

I also never thought I would be mentioning puffer jackets in a Trelise Cooper review- but they did make an appearance albeit trimmed with the obligatory ruffles and sure to be adorning the corporate boxes of the looming World cup or sitting nicely sideline on a Kings College rugby field. It is nice to see that commercialism in high fashion is not completely dead.

Cooper by Trelise showed its naughty and slightly harder younger side with washed denim on denim ensembles, worn leather jackets and a touch of leopard print and black over the knee boots.

Overall the styling was relaxed and so less contrived than usual with layered hosiery, ripped torn leggings and bright blue sheepskin shoes.
