The first show I made it in for was BMW New Generation Show, which saw three up-and-coming designers compete for the award. It was judged by a public vote with plastic chips in the fashion week foyer which was a bit different to the normal fashion industry judged awards. I was lucky enough to have borrowed one of the BMWs wrapped in a design (by Nara Paz) a couple of weeks ago.

What I wore today: sweatshirt cape I made, olive wrap jacket by Nom.d, trousers Company of Style, collar ruff by Trelise Cooper, shoes Number One Shoes.
This afternoon, things got very summery, with the swimwear show then Pia Boutique. At the combined Tigerlily and Surface Too Deep show, in-season summer 13/14 ranges walked in a bright and happy show, with unusually smiley models. It’s well to note than catwalk models don’t always make the best swimwear or lingerie models, so I liked the curvier girls.
5pm saw us head up to Shed 2 for Pia Boutique’s show, which centred around a black and white graphic pattern with block brights in coral and orange. The show opened with a live singer.

At 8pm we headed to Ponsonby Central to the packed out, standing-room-only Sapphire Room for the last fashion show of NZFW: Salasai. It was an absolutely beautiful show from Salasai – in both clothes, with a gorgeous oriental-floral print, her usual sportswear influence – and the accessories, of costume jewellery and furry scarf collars. The show was styled by Dan Ahwa, with makeup by M.A.C.
