One of the unquestioned highlights of fashion week is the Underground Fashion Installation of Ciel PR labels Jimmy D, Blue Blank, Eugenie, Kowtow, Jessica Grubisa, Maaike, Miss Crabb, Otsu, Thistle Brown, and Underground Sundae.
The show was held in the carpark of Sofitel Auckland and it felt ‘underground’, both figuratively and literally. Partitions were created with silver foil walls, making little ‘rooms’ for each story. It was like walking through one of those diaramas you make at primary school where you get a glimpse of another world through a peephole. I walked from one room to the next like a dolls house with full-sized dolls dressed up and in different scenarios to peep in at.
Makeup was incredible too and really set the scene – glitter punks, dark-rimmed eyes – and was created by M.A.C Key Makeup Artist Olivia Russell. Nails were by Leah Light using M.A.C.
