Some amazing shows today at New Zealand Fashion Week 2012 Day Three on Thursday 6th September, with Salasai, BLAK, Charlie Brown, Taylor, and Annah Stretton, as well as the only offsite show of the day, Stolen Girlfriends Club.

My highlights were the two s names – Salasai and Stolen – bookending the day.

It would appear, in fashion, that snakes are the new leopards.

I got to grips with the media boat moored alongside the wharf, in use as a space media can use during the day to load articles from. Some editors couldn’t get their sea legs and felt seasick from the lurching waves. I wouldn’t recommend the gangplank in heels when wet.

Great minds think alike #1: There have been two shows based on the hunt (Ingrid Starnes & Andrea Moore)
Great minds think alike #2: There have been two shows called Blue Sky (Showroom22 & moochi Blue Sky Feeling)
Great minds think alike #3: There have been two shows using a single rose on seats (pink at NZ Weddings, painted black at BLAK)

I got snapped by the China fashion blog Stylites.net sitting at NZFW.

Thursday 12.30 pm Salasai took us on a trip to the American mid-west with their Autumn Winter 2013 collection ‘Heartlands’. Read our review here.

Thursday 2.00 pm BLAK With the inspiration of a young romantic girl with a dark edge, M.A.C key make-up artist Sam Howard created this face for BLAK Autumn Winter 2013 collection ‘The Black Rose.’

Thursday 4.00 pm Charlie Brown showed her winter collection ‘Naughty & Nice’ at fashion week with two stories: military luxe and an Oriental-themed Indochine opium den. Read our review here.

Go Mayor Len Brown standing up in the front row to help a model who fell off her shoes.

Thursday 6.00 pm Taylor Vicki Taylor’s show featured striking hats and plaits extensions by Michael Beel for ghd, and make-up by Smashbox. Unlike most collections at Fashion Week which will be released next winter, Taylor will be released as a limited edition range launching with her new Taylor Boutique in Britomart in December 2012.

Thursday 7.00 pm Annah Stretton I didn’t make this one but as I was leaving I saw lots of ladies arriving from Matamata. She has a very loyal customer base. It was a twenty year retrospective including the infamous taxidermied boar’s head taken out of retirement to walk the runway on a model’s head once more.

Thursday 8.30pm Stolen Girlfriends Club showed ‘Dead End’, their Autumn/Winter 2013 collection in a concrete carpark in Grey Lynn last night to 560 seated and 500 standing guests. read the review here.
