Make-up was inspired by LA 1970s disco, which is seen in the garments: jumbo lurex mesh and even quilted jackets made a comeback to the catwalk. Halston-style draped longsleeve dresses, and buttoned-up kneelength dresses, brought a more restrained sexiness.

The colour palette was melon and navy, with shots of purple lurex.

Adrian Hailwood has just this month launched Hailwood for Mi Piaci shoes (around $400 region) with gorgeous leather high heels. Belts are also worth noting; women around me were all oohing over the gold chain and leather belts accessorising the dresses and trousers.

Hailwood is not afraid to dress a strong woman; sometimes I lost sight of who exactly that woman is, as it seemed such a variety of outfits – but perhaps she is a woman of many faces.

Hailwood began as a printer of incredibly popular tee-shirts and I think his prints are always very much a key part of his line. Maybe a Hailwood tee-shirt line should make a comeback?
