Hailwood AW14 at New Zealand Fashion Week 2-13

Designer Adrian Hailwood’s 2014 Autumn Winter collection was a mix of ultra feminine with classic silhouettes and edgy rockabilly girl with tight high-waisted jeans and cropped denim jackets.

The hair and makeup, with gelled fringes, big curls, and glossy red lips referenced the 1940s woman, cementing the feel that this collection is for a strong woman, not afraid to show her curves or personality. Read more about the hair by Hair Director Danny Pato using JOICO on Thread here.

With beautiful textured fabrics in true Hailwood style, the evening gowns were graceful and elegant yet kept an edge which makes them stand out that much more, and makes the collection that much more interesting.

The gold jacquard print which came up throughout in skirts, tops and dresses was beautifully done next to black velvet and brought an Asian influence to the show which popped up in other styles as well.

Hailwood does what he does well in this collection, with strong lines and a clear direction, there’s no doubt these pieces will become favourites next winter.
