Thread chatted to M.A.C key artist Josie Wignall about her inspiration in creating the face for Juliette Hogan AW13, backstage at New Zealand Fashion Week on Tuesday 4th September 2012.
What’s the inspiration?
Josie Wignall says the look was inspired by a girl traveller, who travels only first class. She is polished and immaculate. There are no hard edges in the make-up, which falls into the Sense and Sensibility key seasonal trend by M.A.C.
What are key colours?
The fashion from Juliette Hogan uses Autumnal shades, so the make-up follows suit, with terracotta eyeshadow in ‘Rule’ and ‘Peaches’ and ‘Sincere’ blushes, with ‘Honey Love’ lipstick.
And what could readers take from this make-up look to use at home?
"At home, use the super-easy Blacktrack liner and use a 217 brush for a blown-our eye" says Josie Wignall.
What is a blown-out eye?
A blown-out eye is diffused, using a fluffy brush not a fine hard-edged brush. Josie also recommends Chromagraphic Pencil in NC15/NW20.
