The NZFW “NEW TALENT” competition is searching out talent in the categories of hair stylist, fashion stylist, make-up artist, female model and male model to work on an advertising campaign to launch New Zealand Fashion Week 2010…
To celebrate the 10th New Zealand Fashion Week, the event is giving 5 worthy winners the chance to head to Auckland and work with some of the fashion industry’s most influential fashion heroes on a once in a lifetime fashion shoot.
The NZFW “NEW TALENT” competition is searching out up-and-comers from around New Zealand in the categories of hair stylist, fashion stylist, make-up artist, female model and male model.
Entries can now be submitted up until the 31st of May and hopefuls will be required to send four shots of their work along with 100 words on why they want to enter into the fashion industry.
“New Zealand Fashion Week is a platform for not only fashion designers but for many of the talented creative professionals who work alongside the week to make it a success. The NEW TALENT project is designed specifically to identify the up-and-comers of the fashion industry and give them a chance to shine. We hope to foster these young stars into the future of fashion,” says Pieter Stewart, Managing Director NZFW.
The finalists of the competition will be decided on by a select panel of leading New Zealand fashion industry experts in each category. The profiles of the finalists will then be posted onto the official NZFW Face book fan page during June and the public will get to vote on their favourite competitor in each category.
The winners will be announced on June 21st and the 5 NEW TALENT winners will be flown to Auckland in mid June for the big photo shoot. The winners will get a once in a lifetime chance to work with their industry mentors in developing what will become the advertising campaign to launch New Zealand Fashion Week 2010.
Already involved in the project are internationally renowned hair stylist Paul Serville, world leading professional makeup brand M.A.C Cosmetics and their Senior Make-up Artist Amber D, the creative team at advertising agency Colenso and fashion stylist Chris Lorimer who has styled the last three ANZFW billboard campaigns.
