RUBY / liam, at New Zealand Fashion Week 2011
31 August 2011
We crammed our way in to meet with Meg, and to grab some of the food (pain au chocolate, and fruit salad for breakfast). There were A LOT more people than the year before and the place they held it at was way bigger. Pretty soon they opened the curtains and we went into this enormous big room with white chairs around the runway. And we were lucky enough to have seats – there were lots of people standing at the back.
First up was Liam, and they had beautiful sounding music played live by a band called Watercolours. This was their first collection. These are the things I loved…
Decided Blazer (pictured left)…again I just love the colour, and that it is a great short length. I would wear it with jeans and a plain white t-shirt (and my Doc Martens).
The Afternoon Delight Dress (below left)…I love the neck of this dress, and I never thought I would love cream – but I love this dress!
The Flourishing Tank and the Decided Pant (below right)…I love the top – I love the colours – the green and the cream together, but I really love the pants. The bright blue is awesome.
And then there was Ruby. And it was my favourite (even tho I loved Liam)! These are my favourite pieces…
Block Dress…I just love the fabric and the colours together, and the shape and length of the dress. The teal boots are just awesome.
Boy Sweater… I really like hand-knitted chunky jersey, it just looks comfy. I like clothes that look comfortable… and I like the longer length of it.
Metallic Tunic…I like the mix of the metallic on the top and the frill of the skirt. And it is a perfect length – just above the knee.
Nightlight Dress Short… I like what they have done with the neck – how it crosses over. I would wear it with black tights and my Doc Martens (I wear everything with my Doc Martens)
Dinosaur Sweater… this is just plain cool.
I loved the whole collection, and there are a lot of things that I would love to wear. I would wear just about all of it.
