For the last winter show of NZ Fashion Week, we crammed into the upstairs room at Ponsonby Central to see Salasai’s ‘Liberté et D’Amour’, my favourite collection of the week.
Salasai’s Kirsha Whitcher (whom we were surprised to see so blonde! Must be that Perth weather) describes the Autumn Winter 2014 collection as "polished ready-to-wear that plays with soft silhouettes, sports luxe and a touch of ‘90s grunge."
Everything was so wearable and indeed, so polished. There were classic macintoshes in camel and dark tartans with a nod to the weather (no wispy white negligees for winter in here thank heavens) and a beautiful pale grey poppy print jumpsuit.
I adored the styling, done by Dan Ahwa, with chunky costume diamond jewellery custom made by VERONICA B worn high over buttoned-up collars, and fur scarves wrapped around necks. Models wore eyewear by Isson and shoes by Number One Shoes.
Hair was gently centre-parted and scraped back in a clean and feminine style created by Matt Benns at STEPHEN MARR using Original & Mineral. Makeup by Amber D at M.A.C Cosmetics drew the focus to a beautiful skin with hi-shine cheekbones and peachy lips and eyeshadow.
I basically wanted to walk away wearing all of these clothes. Well done Kirsha for knowing what women want to wear. Check out our photos from the show, below.
