A stunningly bright fuchsia wide lapel coat cut a striking opening for Liz Mitchell’s Scent of Peony collection as part of the Mini Group Show at Fashion Week.
Pinks and purples made a strong showing in a mid length sheath with Phillip Lim-esque draping and a full length gown with intricately beaded bust line.
The suiting and separates were standard fare in muted greys, easily confused with the Air New Zealand staffers on hand to seat the attendees.
However a cocoon-shaped cape did lift away the dreary tones in the epitome of style and comfort.
Liz Mitchell’s true strength lies in her old school approach to classic technical dressmaking and it shone through with a jaw dropping baroque style gown in rich rosette red. A structural and intricate piece that showcased her well versed experience and approach to couture black tie.
