On the first of November Thread kicked off the month in a fashionable way; by attending the brand launch for the second ever Wellington Fashion Week and the announcement of McKenzie Watson Photography as the official photographer of WFW 2013.
WFW will run for the second time from the 3rd to 7th April 2013. The event will take place at the Wellington waterfront and will include consumer-oriented shows featuring current collections as well as spring-summer, group and individual trade shows.
The current collection showcases will provide a more accessible and straightforward vibe for the average consumer and instant gratification for retailers and designers. One of the media highlights in regards to WFW is the confirmation of WORLD opening the WFW with a show in which they will showcase their in-season Autumn/Winter 13 collection.
If this Wellington Fashion Week is as successful as the last, it wouldn’t be a stretch to expect that it will become an annual event. Designer enrolments open November 5th 2012 and there are sure to be more announcements so make sure you connected to their Facebook page: Wellington Fashion Week.
